Steffen Ries
Breath- and Bodyworker (Achtsam-Atmen Akademie, 2025)
Breathwork Facilitator (Tree-Yoga, Wolf Kinsmen, 2024)
As Steffen I practice Breathwork and I’m here to hold space for you. A space that is free of judging or any expectation, so that you can let go and enjoy your experience with your breath. During my trainings and continous journey of self-discovery and participation in ongoing education programs and workshops I learned how to facilitate breathwork sessions safely and sensitively. I’m also trauma-conscious.
I’m on a journey that never ends. And I know we all are. I learned to live with uncertainty, with pain and fear and doubts. I know my anger. I embrace every moment with a big smile on my face when I’m feeling deep gratitude. Life is like that. It consists of the highest Highs and the deepest Lows. And I learned to be aware of it more than ever and to accept what is there. Whereas in the past I was trying to destract myself with “stuff”. Pushing myself to the limit, physically, mentally and emotionally. I cared about things I could do, activities I might be interested in, people I could meet up with and more. Seeking for satisfaction anywhere, but within myself.
I grew up in the middle of Germany in a mid-size village as a single child.
My entire family used to live in that village.
My parents and I we lived together with my invalid grandfather in a small apartement.
My parents took care of him.
We moved to a house when I turned seven.
My parents separated when I was 12 years old.
I went to four different schools.
At the age of eleven, I went to a school of the German Soccer Association aiming to become a professional soccer player.
The school was located 50 km from home and I commuted every day.
I broke a ligament at the age of 19 and couldn’t continue playing soccer.
I went to the USA after school and lived with kids with special needs.
For a short period of time I worked with street kids in Quito, Ecuador.
I studied mechanical engineering and management in Germany and Spain.
I moved to Vienna for a master’s programme in sports engineering.
I worked for a running shoe company in the US and in Vienna.
I finished two full distance Ironman triathlons and I ran a marathon.
I worked as a system integration engineer at a german car manufacturer.
My most adventurous bike-packing happened to be in Patagonia.
I quit my safe job after 8 years.
I traveled Europe in a van and Latin-America with my backpack for several months.
In the Andean mountains in Peru I completed a 100 hr breathwork faciliator training.
Near Munich I completed a 7 months education programme for Breath- and Bodyworker.
Daily, I practice meditation, breathwork and asanas.
“After quitting my corporate job I discovered Breathwork. It showed me what I couldn’t imagine.
Since then I practice it as an integral part of being.”
PRANA
Prana is elusive. It is the life energy, the breath, the Qi. It is the flow of life within our bodies and within all beings.
IGUANA
Iguanas have one of the most efficient breathing systems in nature. It is similar to the breathing system of birds. Moreover Iguanas benefit from a third eye, which is located between the two eyes for visual sight. And they are great looking when taking a sunbath or running across natural stones, diving or just looking around in a realxed manner.
SPIRAL
The Spiral, which is a symbol known to be used in spiritual practices, reflects the universal pattern of growth and evolution. Reflected in the natural world, the Spiral is found in human physiology, plants, minerals, animals, energy patterns, weather, growth and death. The Spiral is a sacred symbol that reminds us of our evolving journey in life. The Spiral helps consciousness to accept the turnings and changes of life as it evolves. The acceptance of change is one of the greatest freedoms a human can experience, putting consciousness in the present moment where the power of creation is condensed. On a larger scale, using this symbol assures all beings are reminded of their inward and outward evolution, a balanced and centered state of mind.
